Our story
Started with software engineering, grew with our clients' problems
ByteWits was founded in 2017 to give software companies an experienced engineering partner: people who could design an architecture, build a product, or take on a module the in-house team didn't have time for.
As we worked with more clients, the same kinds of problems kept coming up. How do we schedule people across competing deadlines? How do we budget and forecast with confidence? How do we move data out of spreadsheets and into systems that can report on it? How do we evaluate performance fairly without weeks of manual work?
We built solutions for those problems: optimization engines for scheduling and resource allocation, budgeting and forecasting tools, a reusable ETL microservice, automated evaluations and custom evaluation forms. We also build AI tools and AI agents that automate repetitive work inside those same systems.
Along the way, ByteWits has helped tens of clients accomplish their goals. Much of our domain experience comes from the CPA and accounting industry, which is why so much of our work is shaped by how firms plan around busy season.

AI is one tool among several. When a problem needs guaranteed constraints, we use optimization. When it needs judgment, we keep people in the loop.
Build to reuse
Common needs such as ETL and evaluations become microservices we can deploy again, which cuts delivery time and cost.

Role-based access, permissions and auditability are designed in from the start, especially when the data is about people and pay.
